Trunk or Treats 2011

OMG I can't tell you what a crazy night it was tonight. Shelley and Ellen's ward had a Trunk or Treat tonight so we went out there around 6ish to take the boys. Now before all of that happened Ryan had a little bit of a melt down. He had asked earlier in the day if we could go to Carls Jr. on Country Club with the play place. We told him we will see. In his mind that means in a little while. Well we didn't have time to drive all the way to Country Club and then back out to the Trunk or treat on Power and McDowell so we said that we couldn't do it tonight. Well that broke his heart and he cried and cried and almost didn't go to the Trunk or Treat. We got good pizza (Barros not the cheep little ceasers) tonight and at first he didn't want that either. Eventually three pieces later he was better. Not only was he tired but also hungry. If that wasn't enough he didn't want to put on his vest for his crossing guard costume. Back story on this Ryan got a stop sign that comes off the pole for his bikes. He copies the crossing Gardie from the school ALL THE TIME. Even when he crosses the street he will hold his hand up like he has a stop sign in his hand. I figure great all he has to do is put on a vest so he doesn't even have to dress up much. Now the vest is for an adult and he didn't like the way it fit. I pinned it up a little but it was a huge fight with lots of tears eventually saying he didn't want to go. Then he ate and I told him he only had to put on the vest for a picture. He was okay with that so I got my picture.
Cameron the Pirate
Cameron has really fallen in love with the show Jake and the Neverland Pirates on Disney Jr.  He sings all the songs does all the dances and can quote most of the shows. That is what you get when you have a mom that can't do anything we watch a lot of TV and I'm okay with that for now. So a while back I asked him if he wanted to be a pirate for Halloween. he said arrgg so I figured that meant yes in Pirate. Well when it was time to get dressed he changed his mind. He kept saying owe i don't like it I can't anything he could think of to get it off of him.
How many grown men does it take to put a two year old in his costume. He is one strong little bugger.
They did eventually get it on him though.

Daddy even gave him his phone to try and make him feel better. It took a while but he did calm down and feel better. Papa got home and he ran into the kitchen and said look papa i a pirate.

It took a little convincing but I was able to get a picture of both boys before we left. Ryan said he wasn't going to bring his vest but I told him that I would take it just in case he wanted it when we got to the Trunk or Treat and he said that was okay for now.

Look who decided to put on his vest. It was funny on the way over Blaine kept talking to him about if he didn't put his vest on that cars wouldn't be able to see him. So as soon as we got to the church he asked to put it on. He would hold his stop sign whenever we walked in the road and the funny thing was some of the kids actually stopped so he thought it was great.

Cameron wasn't so sure about the Tunk or Treating thing but as long as Daddy would walk up to the cars with him he was okay. And never complained about his costume at all.
Ryan helped not only us but a few other people cross the street on our way back to our car. He also never complained about his vest anymore. When we got home tonight I showed him these pictures and he could see what he daddy meant when he said that when lights hit his vest it would glow and he thought that was awesome.

All in all once we got tot he Trunk or Treat both boys had a good time and didn't mind the costumes so we will see how it goes on Monday for our Trunk or Treat.
