Happy 6 Years

I am a little late in posting this but the weekend of our anniversary was a pretty jam packed weekend. On March 5th 2010 Blaine and I celebrated our 6th wedding anniversary. We had great plans of leaving the boys with Blaine's brother Nathan and his wife for the weekend and go away for a weekend. Our plans fell though when we found out that Friday morning at 7 am Cameron was going to have surgery to get his tubes put in. So Mr. Cameron took priority over our little get away. Blaine took the day off so that he would be there for the surgery afterwards Cameron Blaine and I went out to breakfast. Ryan had spent the night at Gary and Lindas so we didn't have to wake him up at 5am and take him around. After breakfast we went and got Ryan and got him ready for school. We just had kind of a lazy day around the house and where waiting to see how Cameron did with his tubes. They said that some kids are really cranky and stuff but Cam took a nice 3 1/2 hour nap and was happy so we decided to go a head and go out to dinner. Now that was the hardest part where to go to dinner. We have our normal favorites, Texas Roadhouse, Olive Garden, Mattas, Fuddruckers but I was in the mood for something a little nicer. Blaine and I haven't ever really been anywhere nice together. So I said what about Ruth Chris or the Melting Pot.
I told him he could choose because he has never been to either before. So we got reservations for the Melting Pot at 6:45. We got Ryan off the bus and got things gathered up to take the boys back over to the Matthews and then we headed out for our big night.
We got there 45 minuets early and they sat us so we got to eat faster we still didn't get out until after 8:00 so you really can't go there if you are starving because it's fondue you cook everything and it takes a while to eat. We got the big night out dinner. It was a four course meal we started with a Cheddar Cheese Fondue and it came with different breads& veggies. Then they brought us out our dinner salads, fallowed by the main entree. By this time we are pretty full but we keep eating anyway. Because we are not seafood people we had them substitute the lobster for more chicken. So on our platter we had garlic crusted chicken, a smoked sirloin, bratwurst, filet, and sun dried tomato ravioli. It was A LOT of FOOD. Now if is time for desert yep there is more. We had a flaming turtle. Sooooo yummy it is chocolate and Carmel mixed together flambeed then they bring out Graham cracker crusted marshmallows, Oreo crusted marshmallows, rice crispy treats, brownies, cheesecake, pound cake, and strawberry's. Once again we where full before this all came out but don't worry it didn't go to waste it did go on our waist though. It was a very nice night in a romantic setting with a lot of food that we on the spendy side but it was still fun.
These past 6 years have been fully of great and sorrowful times. Blaine had to make some decisions that no husband should ever have to make. However we made it though it stronger than ever. I love you so much and thank you for all the hard work that you do to support our family. Here is to another great 6 years.

  1. Congrats on 6 years! :) Sounds like a delightful evening, even if you were stuffed to the brim at the end :)
And glad to hear Cameron's surgery went well, you always hope for that!

  2. Happy anniversary! We went to the Melting Pot for our last anniversary too...it's SO yummy! I feel the same way as you do. Having lost a child, you realize as a couple that if you can get through that, you can get through pretty much anything.
